About Us

Mind Matters is a virtual chat room where people with mental illnesses can seek (almost) immediate help and support from trained counsellors, volunteers, and professionals, while maintaining anonymity. This allow sufferers to get the help they need without feeling like nobody understands or listens to them, and without feeling judged.

Speakers

We understand that troubled people are just looking for someone to talk to, to listen to them and understand them without judging them. Yet, anonymity is key because of the stigma attached.

Emotional Support

We are here to provide emotional support and advice if and when needed, through compassion, empathy, and genuine concern. Our Listeners are also trained professionals, who prioritises Speakers and their privacy. Everything is strictly Private & Confidential.

Our Story

The general public have misconceptions of mental illnesses and people who suffer from mental illnesses, making them hesitant or even unwilling to help sufferers. Because of this stigma, sufferers are afraid to speak up for the fear of judgment or not being taken seriously. Thus, there is a wide treatment gap, meaning most sufferers do not seek proper help from professionals.

As they grow older, these undiagnosed mental illnesses worsen, causing them to resort to suicide, thinking that it is their only deliverance from their suffering. Our goal is to build a supportive community to those who suffer from mental illnesses, as well as educating and clarifying misconceptions of mental illnesses and its sufferers.

To clarify the public's misconceptions of mental illnesses, and remove the stigma attached to mental illness sufferers, in hopes of allowing sufferers to speak up without fear of judgement, and to seek professional help.

Mission
